This defense is particularly good when the opponent is attacking the left side. In a practice setting, Egbert shows all of the slides and adjustments when the ball comes from the left side attacker. A 2 set, or middle attack, creates a different alignment (it is demonstrated). The right side attacker presents yet another alignment and set of adjustments from base set. The best way to teach this defense is from the boxes, allowing the coach to place the ball from different positions at the net.
